One thing you have to keep in mind is, meeting planners are looking for credibility when it comes to hiring a motivational speaker.  In fact, being an expert with strong credibility is a shortcut for most meeting planners. Well, it’s the reality for any business. But since this blog is about becoming a motivational speaker, take it as a direct advice to you.

Now, how do you become a credible expert?

Public Speaking… Can You Become One or Are You Born With It? Here’s My Verdict.

I was at Micro Center checking the new Mac Book Pro. That’s right slowly but surely I am becoming a Mac fan! I guess it’s because I am more into videos now. And videos are the future.

While at the store, I started a conversation with a brilliant man. He was sort of perplexed to know someone can actually teach others how to become a motivational speaker. He said, “I don’t think it’s possible. You either have it or you don’t have it. People are born public speakers.”

You Don’t Need Any Special Education To Be A Motivational Speaker

Do I need to have special education to be a motivational speaker? I cannot tell you how many times people ask me this one question.

Some would ask me, “Where did you go to school to learn how to be a motivational speaker?” There are those that ask me about my corporate background. They want to know where I got my business acumen from. I didn’t really think I had any. I am just using my common sense. (more…)

You Gotta Tell Your Story

You probably, at one point or another, say to yourself you don’t have a story to tell. This is a very common concern for beginning speakers. And it’s even more so for those that are born in the US.

Listen, if you think you can connect with your audiences without a story, think again. Stories are what bond us to our audiences. They are what give us leverage to last in the business. And that goes for any business. (more…)
