Think Business Instead of Speaking Gigs.

I’ve heard this one over and over. Yet, for whatever reason, my mind got stuck on standing ovations, accolades, the check, and more gigs. I completely overlooked the fact that speaking is not a business in and of itself.

It’s a means to an end. It’s a pillar of your business.

If you go out to give a speech then come home and wait for the next one, you are in for a rude awakening. You gotta keep turning your marketing wheel to get your business going. (more…)

Rich Motivational Speakers Can Be Wrong

Rich Gurus Aren’t Always Right. Do not just drop your load and start following their advice.

I remember contacting one of the gurus in the speaking field for advice to print my one sheet. He referred me to one of his high priced suppliers. Well, I called to get a quote. I almost fell out of my chair when the guy quoted the price. I couldn’t believe it.

Now, I’m sure my speaker guru friend meant well. He honestly wanted to help me. But he forgot that I was not making his millions. I was still struggling financially. (more…)

It Isn’t About Your Impressive Background Or Education

I’m VERY serious about it. Regardless of your background or education, with little efforts, you can become an authority in your field in no time.

Let’s see, diet is one topic that has been around for hundreds of years if not thousands. I don’t think someone can come up with new concepts or ideas about it.

But do you notice how many books are written on diet? Are these authors saying anything new?  No. I think they are saying the same things in a different way. (more…)
